I am the second Blogger and most of the obsessive Jim love will be coming from me (by the way who didn't love themselves some Jim chest action on the premiere?). I'm a Canadian (and proud of it) and as i can only leave my igloo once or twice a year, i need to find exciting ways to entertain myself...
Now I'd like let you all in on my little secret...
I LOVE TV...well not all TV, just good TV. Stuff that is really something special, shows like Dexter, Extras, Arrested Development, The Office UK and of course, our current subject The Office US.
Now I've attempted to dissect why I love The Office so much and i think it all comes down to The Injury...everything i love about this show is epitomized in that episode. Michael is off-kilter (but who doesn't love waking up to the smell of bacon?), Pam and Jim sweet, Ryan as douche-y as ever and Dwight, well Dwight is perfection. And, i mean, honestly who didn't love Jim spraying Michael and Dwight with the squirty bottle in Meredith's van?
That being said, Season 3 was off for me. Jim was kind of, well, not Jim and the Drama was just too ever-present. Also, i found it a tad ridiculous that Jim didn't immediately begin seeing Pam when he got back to Scranton. He still loved her, you know it, i know it, he knew and Lord know the writers knew it, yet it was dragged out to all our frustration. Now, with that said, Season 3 had its moments, Mose and the trip to the beet farm for one, Dwight pepper-spraying Roy for another. I do applaud the addition of Andy, as it adds another oddball for Dwight to interact with and I also enjoyed Pam's progress throughout the season (you go Pam!).
My hopes for this season are as follows:
- To maintain the light-heartedness (seeing as Karen and Roy are no longer around, i think this will lessen any drama)
- To maintain Michael's plausibility (yes, he's strange but let's remind ourselves he is still a regional manager and therefore needs to be at least somewhat intelligent)
- That the focus will not be on Pam and Jim, because even though i heart them, they are not the only reason i love the show and there is a lot more going on than just them
So here is to an excellent season and I'm glad that i now have a wide audience with which to share my ever impressive opinions and my wildly hilarious insights.
Later Skaters,
Natascia
